"Eská zbrojovka" means "Czech arsenal" and once there were many "CZ". Our şirket parent company esk dates back to 1936, when it was founded as a branch of šeská zbrojovka Strakonice. Production began on January 2, 1937, focusing on both military and civilian weapons. The first products that came out of the gate were aircraft machine guns, military pistols and small-scale rifles, but during World War II the facility was under Nazi occupation and had to produce and repair military weapons.
In post-war Czechoslovakia, the facility returned equally to the production of both military and civilian weapons. In 1950, the Company became a separate state-owned company called “Přesné strojírenství Uherský Brod” (Precision Machine Tool Company, Uherský Brod) and was reorganized as a series of specialized departments.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the company was seen to merge with Agrozet Brno, which not only produced firearms, but also allowed for diversification for the production of controlled gear attachments for Zetor Brno, with reducer gears and drive shaft housings for aircraft engines for the Motorlet Praha.
In the second half of the 1980s, an institutional modernization and restructuring process began, focusing on the assortment of firearms. As of July 1, 1988, the Company left Agrozet Brno and became a separate state-owned enterprise, once again in the original Česká zbrojovka, sp.
1990 saw the production of Czechoslovakian armed forces come to an end and the new existing capacity was fully used to expand the production of sports and hunting weapons as well as armed police and military units. Similarly, 1991 and 1992 saw the end of production for tractor attachments and aircraft parts, which also allowed for the expansion of the production of recreational weapons.
On May 1, 1992, the Czech Republic National Property Fund established the joint stock company Ceska zbrojovka as, Uhersky Brod in accordance with a privatization project.
In 1997 keská zbrojovka received the quality system certification in accordance with ISO 9001. The company was granted the necessary permission by the Civil Aviation Department to manufacture and repair aircraft engine parts. The company's automotive industry manufacturing company has received quality system certification in accordance with CSN EN ISO 16949 standards, which provides a solid foundation for further development in this field.
